Every year, around four hundred young adults leave children’s homes. Will they be able to stand on their own without a financial cushion and a safety net from family and friends? Or will they be driven by potential emotional (and physical) trauma and years spent in children’s homes, where they often didn’t learn solid interpersonal relationships or how to function in everyday life? More than half of them end up on the streets, in the depths of drug addiction, or in prison cells.
