Mural painting

As artists, we have created an artwork with the main theme of “Mezikrok” (Intermediate Step). After several conversations with individuals who have gone through the system, we have decided to focus on ways in which you can help these young people during their transition into adulthood.

If you’d like to see this artwork with your own eyes, visit the Vnitroblock wall at Dělnická 32, Praha 7.

It is sort of like going on an adventure
Designation still unknown
Only you and your heavy baggage
Of to conquer the world

You’re a child who had to grow up
Forced and fast

But still
Eighteen means adulthood
And there are choices calling your name
Do you go left or do you go right?
Both ways are filled with temptation
Hard work
And fights

You don’t want to be a burden
That is something you are certain of
Yet the word always lingers in your mind
It’s been said to you so often
That it is tattooed on the inside of your eyes

Could it be different?
Could you break the chains?
And step out of the loop of the life you’ve been send on
Many times you’ve seen before
How the world made life really hard
On those you’ve known from inside the walls
Of houses that you’ve called your home

With eyes wide open
And arms stretched out
You reach for the door
Find the doorknob
And turn it

Blinded by the light
You bump into something
Someone
Softly and with caution they help you navigate
Together you take that first step
Small yet very important

A Mezikrok
A step in between
Into the world
Unknown
With this Patron by your side
